There are equations available modeling left ventricular pressure volume relationships. With declared assumptions a siumlation is posted here.

Note: the above animated gif  was generated with the following characteristics:

  • LV modeled as an ellipsoid
  • dimensions: diastolic cavity dimension ‘5’ with volume ‘120’ in end-diastole and volume end-systole ’50’ and diastolic wall thickness ‘1’
  • time course of contraction consistent with model used in the linked post
  • the wall thickness changes accompanying cavity volume changed modeled to maintain constant volume of myocardium (i.e. volume outer ellipsoid – volume inner ellipsoid = constant)
