1729

Posted by ubpdqn on July 11, 2011

It is a surprise to me that this blog has received any ‘hits’. A lot are self created but some are not. For anyone who has looked at this site.  I hope you derived some amusement. If not I wish you peace.

1729 is the famous number Hardy described as uninteresting and Ramanujan promptly countered with the observation that it is the smallest number that can be expressed as the sum of two cubes in two different ways: 1729 = 10^3+9^3=12^3 +1^3

Some other properties:

1729 = 19 \times 91

1729 = 7 \times 13\times 19  (alternate primes)

Peace to all,
